Job opening - Software Developer at Titan Medical Inc. (Hamilton, ON, Canada)

Our client, Titan Medical Inc., is seeking a skilled Software Developer with robotics design experience to support its growth.  Based at its Ancaster facility, you will support the development of the operating system and high-level communication protocols for the Amadeus® platform (a next generation 4-armed robotic surgical system, with the objective of enabling surgeons to remotely manipulate surgical instruments).   As you will be working with a team of experienced partners in the development of this new technology, you must demonstrate excellent team work skills and be capable of excelling in an exciting, fast-paced, results-driven start-up environment.

Responsibilities include: 

• working on a cross-functional team to design and develop a real-time operating system and high-level communication protocols for the Amadeus® Advanced Robotic Surgical System;


• assist! ing in the development of a Safety-Critical control monitor and processes for the Amadeus platform;


• assisting with building specification and workflows, as well as assigning technologies;


• assisting with performing risk analysis and developing software mitigations;


• assisting with composing technical documentation of developed software;


• assisting with the definition and specification of future designs.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2-5 years' experience in developing and supporting embedded systems;


• Bachelor Degree in Software or Computer Engineering;


• experience with real-time, multi-tasking, embedded operating systems or other embedded real-time processing frameworks (Windows CE, QNX);


• experience with the implementation of complex control algorithms into embedded systems is an asset;


• good verbal commu! nication and technical writing skills;


• ability t! o multi task and manage time effectively;


• ability to work well under pressure and the flexibility to meet changing scopes and deadlines.
