The Platform Team
We are the small and rapidly growing @SpotifyPlatform team. We create technologies that enable the developer community, our business partners and all of humanity to build music into devices, web sites and apps. You must be located in, or willing to relocate to, Stockholm, Sweden, where we do the Platform engineering. Developer and end-user marketing is, and will be, spread out around the globe.
Your Responsibilities
Most Spotify backend components are written in Python, C/C++ or Java. We operate mostly in a GNU/Linux environment. Most of our systems are small and decoupled and can typically be fully understood and maintained by a single developer. As a backend engineer in the Platform Team however, you will have to make change all across the backend. This means that you will have to be able to absorb large code bases quickly and be socially geek savvy enough to qui! ckly build street cred amongst the entire backend engineering teams.
If you like to travel you will have the opportunity to go around the world to developer events and hackathons to promote our platform technologies.
