We’re seeking experienced software engineers to join our payment team in Stockholm, Sweden. The engineers we’re looking for have a passion for software development, especially in complex systems that demand extreme accuracy and good software design skills.
About the team
The payment team is responsible for the payment backend systems, a core system in the Spotify backend. Most of the payment backend systems are built in Python, some minor parts in Java, and all services are running in a GNU/Linux environment. The ideal candidate should therefore have a passion about Python and extensive experience working in UNIX-like systems.
We’re an agile company, and it is not uncommon that the code we are writing goes live within a few days. Developers at Spotify have huge responsibility and the payment team is involved in many high priority projects. Some example of projects the team is working with:
- Scaling the systems to our growing user numbers
- Integrating with new payment providers
- Preventing fraud
- New campaigns and product types
- Improve system to reduce churn
- Supporting partner integrations
Responsibilities
- Hacking on the Spotify payment backend
- Assuming ownership over certain components in the payment backend and continuously working to improve them
- Being proactive and constantly paying attention to the scalability, performance and availability of our systems
- Occasionally helping out with recruitment
