Who we are?
We at Practo Technologies are a group of focused youngsters passionate about web technologies and how we can help solve problems of the non-tech savvy. Our current offering www.practo.com is used by 20,000+ doctors across 5,000+ healthcare practices in 70+ cities to manage appointment scheduling, maintaining patient records, managing accounts & communicating with more than 1,000,000+ patients . Practo was founded in 2008, and today is one of the most successful SAAS provider, in the Indian SME segment. We are advised by the Morpheus, and funded by top tier US based venture capitalist firm.
How we work?
Practo is strictly a product development company and we believe in cutting out all that is unnecessary for the end user to have the smoothest, yet powerful software experience. The joy of seeing your friendly neighbourhood doctor thank you for making his life simpler is priceless. Challenges we face everyday are what keep us motivated. Understanding how a healthcare practice works and finding solutions to their problems while keeping things simple to use and understand is what we are always pursuing.
Technology
At Practo we believe in using the right tools for the job. Practo products are mainly built using LAMP stack. We recently open-sourced our analytics framework R5D4 written using python and redis. We use various optimisations like in-memory caches, static file bundling and a multi-server architecture with centralised data storage and session management. Practo is now available on the Android platform, with an iOS application under development. We are always excited about using cutting-edge technology. We are currently scaling up our infrastructure to meet the exponentially increasing traffic hitting our servers.
Requirements and Responsibilities
- Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in web development
- Experience in object oriented techniques
- Experience with MVC frameworks preferably in PHP
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS
- You know how the web works, at least from HTTP to HTML
- Implementing new features for Practo Products
- Assisting with feature definition, use case development and complexity estimates
- Work closely with UI developers to provide the best possible solution for users
