Mentors Guild plans to be an online marketplace for mentorship services. It will fill a growing need for people active in workforce to quickly learn new skills, either relevant for career growth or aligned to their individual interests.
For mentors, the Guild will create and manage their brands as domain experts; provide financial incentivize to share their life’s work; help network with curious, energetic folks; and finally, present a unique opportunity to give back to society by creating the next generation of mentors.
Role Description
- CTO will lead the design effort, from whetting the current wireframes to driving rapid iterative improvements
- CTO will own the technical aspects of the business; architecture, platform choices, development cycle, build/ buy decisions
- CTO will be hands-on in development of the working prototype (since the project is self funded), but once financial self-sustainance is achieved the CTO will be key to scalability and business growth
- CTO will support all communications needed with external stakeholders; including prospective customers, investors and other interested parties
Requirements
- Strong technical background (Engineering degree, 5+ years of web development experience, awareness of various frameworks)
- Analytical/ problem solving skills (resourcefulness)
- Prior startup experience/ strong entrepreneurial drive
- Experience in the creation of clean design and quality code
