Job opening - Embedded SDK Engineer at Twitch (San Francisco, CA)

We have a vision at Twitch that some day anyone will be able to stream any game with a single click. We want to make video game broadcasting as simple as sharing a photo with Instagram is today. What if every game had an SDK included that enabled that? What if every game had a simple one-click-to-broadcast option? This team is implementing the vision. We've announced one integration so far, but that's only the beginning. We are working with gaming developers across the industry, both big and small, and we need to build the best possible experience across every platform.

If you know how to allocate your own memory, write correct threaded code, watch out for memory fragmentation, and you like writing wicked-fast and efficient code that can go into AAA games, we need you on our team. Programming experience on video games is a huge plus. We are particularly looking for people with experience in C++, Obj-C, and Java (esp. for Android).

Quali! fications:

  • You can write solid C++ code, are not afraid of the STL and care about what your code looks like

  • You have shipped several games and have experience in a few different areas (AI, UI, rendering, etc.), preferably on both consoles and PC

  • You have a good understanding of concurrency and synchronization

  • You know how to optimize code and can write some assembly for performance-critical parts of the code if necessary

  • You have fixed release-only, platform-specific, disc-only bugs and are not afraid of diving into disassembly to debug something

  • You always have an eye out for memory usage and fragmentation and know how to track and minimize both

Benefits: Competitive salary (including equity), full medical & dental, catered meals, onsite massages, gym membership, fun team events, whatever design tools you desire, as many monitors as you can fit ! on your desk.

Twitch is a Y-Combinator company. We're b! ased out of San Francisco, CA.
