Job opening - Systems Architect/Administrator at The New York Stem Cell Foundation (New York, NY)

The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) is a rapidly growing and highly successful nonprofit whose mission is to accelerate cures through stem cell research. We are a vibrant, growing organization that advances cutting-edge stem cell research in its own laboratory and through support for talented scientists at other institutions.


NYSCF is seeking applications for an experienced Systems Administrator/Systems Architect with experience in scientific computing environments for a newly created full time position that will assist in the automation of stem cell projects.  We are currently building out the infrastructure to support an automated stem cell production facility.  This new position will join an exciting, multi-disciplinary team to support these efforts.  The person filling this role will report to the laboratory director and will work collaboratively with members of the laboratory and across the organization.



The successf! ul candidate will:



  • Develop and support IT infrastructure for the laboratory.

  • Support existing instrumentation software solutions throughout the laboratory, utilizing databases, LIMS, and robotic liquid handling systems.

  • Develop software to integrate new off-the-shelf and custom instrumentation into the manufacturing/quality control process to enable sample tracking, inventory and data management.

  • Provide technical expertise on cross-functional teams for high-throughput operations and R&D applications.

  • Create test plans that have stated requirements and specifications.  Analyze data and communicate results in a team environment.

  • Help evaluate and test new automation technologies.

  • Troubleshoot software and hardware problems.
