Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is “Storage for the Internet.” Amazon S3 makes it simple to store and retrieve large amounts of data, at any time, from anywhere on the Web. Since its public launch in 2006, Amazon S3 has been growing rapidly. Adoption continues to exceed all projections.


We are seeking a world! -class Senior Software Engineer to join a unique environment building an internet scale data storage service. This candidate will have a demonstrable grasp of algorithm and data-structure analysis and efficiency, principles of object-oriented design, and an excellent foundation in distributed programming design principles. The ideal candidate will possess extensive development experience in an object oriented language, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and will thrive in a small, high-performance team environment. This individual should also have a demonstrated ability for technical leadership and mentoring.


Responsibilities:



  • Take a primary role in the design and development of new service architectures and features

  • Leverage AWS services and compute resources to implement scalable distributed services

  • Design and implement integration points with development tools and the S3 AWS web console
  • Create prototypes and proof of concepts

  • ! Design and implement RESTful API’s for Amazon’s cloud infrastructure

  • Collaborate in capacity planning and operational excellence discussions

  • Mentor and provide technical leadership
