UI Creater at Broad Street Analytics (New York, NY)

At Broad Street Analytics, we build cutting-edge tools for modeling, simulation, and data mining. We have radically better software for massively parallel data analysis.

We are looking for UI designers who will turn the world’s most powerful engine for intensive computing into an environment that analysts and researchers can use to manipulate and study terabytes of data.

More About Us

  • We have an outstanding team of seven guys. This is your chance to get in during the early days! We are looking for numbers eight and nine. Our team members have incredible engineering credentials, with experience building and selling sophisticated software in small and large (100+ engineer) projects.

  • We have a deep commitment to creating innovative, usable, beautiful user interfaces that people will want to use for complex tasks.

  • We are pre-revenue and we do not expect to have sales for the next! six months. We will be drawing on strong industry ties to test and refine our software until this summer.

  • Our customers will be in finance – we’re in NYC, after all – as well as healthcare, ad media, consumer goods, government, etc. Wherever people need to make projections or run simulations, our software is often the best tool. Our biggest competitors are mammoths like IBM, SAS, and Mathworks.

  • We are financed by east coast and west coast venture capital funds.

More About You

  • You are a designer with a critical eye and clean visual design sensibility, a user experience fanatic, and an excellent software developer.

  • You have a demonstrated understanding of visual and interaction design principles.

  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • You have experience in rapid-prototyping new user interfaces, developing! user models and workflows, drawing wireframes and mockups, co! llecting user feedback, and responding quickly to improve the product.

  • You are comfortable using (or relearning) C++ and Python, and happy to pick up functional programming paradigms.

  • You are eager to tackle the emerging problem of cloud-based, big-data-driven, rich interactive interfaces.
