You should be a seasoned engineering manager with experience in Internet-scale distributed systems. We're looking for a leader to focus on engineering and operational excellence to help us scale this business from start-up to the leader in operational performance and market share for distribution on the Internet.

This leader has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast. The ca! ndidate is a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong team. The Amazon Web Services business requires creative engineering balanced with a strong quality and customer focus. This leader should have a proven ability to design and deliver infrastructure and processes to ensure robustness of a technical service in the face of failure around it.

- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience managing a software development team, and a proven track record of shipping software on time.
- Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter, and people manager
- Have experience with Internet-scale distributed systems
- Ideally have led or participated in the design and construction of a large scale Intern! et network including DNS, routing, etc., or design and impleme! ntation of a large scale distributed system, or design and implementation of highly performant and concurrent web servers
Master's degree and/or PhD preferred in mathematics, computer science, or related discipline preferred.
