Buzzcapture, Dutch market leader in social media monitoring and analysis, is looking for a world-class Software Developer to join our small and informal team at our office overlooking the Herengracht canal of Amsterdam.
Buzzcapture’s servers continuously monitor the online landscape, harvesting blogs, forums and micro-blogs such as Twitter for interesting insights and trends. Processing this vast amount of data and allowing our customers to effectively navigate and interact with it is part of our daily development challenge. Our data processing pipeline crunches terabytes of data and extracts millions of messages from html pages and RSS feeds. Computing on such a scale presents challenges on all fronts, demanding smart solutions which can scale.
As a developer you will be responsible for your code, from design to production. You will suggest ideas how to improve it and make it better. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to take on th! e challenge of multi-threaded programs. Someone who likes working on a variety of problems - ranging from calculating the influence of Twitter users to implementing an effective alerting system.
