Job opening - Web Developer at Heard & Smith, LLP (San Antonio, TX)

Position Summary:


Responsible for developing and maintaining innovative web-based applications and tools for a national disability law firm.  Web developer will work closely with Marketing & IT directors, project managers, and executive management team members to develop specifications and make recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies.  Programming, graphic design and database administration are all elements of this position. Web developer will be responsible for supporting existing web based projects as well as developing new technologies and new web based projects.  In addition to web development, this developer will also work on a desktop CRM system built on DataFlex and MS SQL.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Work closely with Marketing, Project Managers, and other members of the Management Team to both develop detailed specification documents w! ith clear project deliverables and timelines, and to ensure timely completion of deliverables.

  • Help conceive new projects by taking time to understand current business processes so you can propose future applications or enhancements of current systems that would increase our efficiency, productivity, or ability to view actionable data in meaningful reports

  • Intermediate to advanced graphic design skills for website graphic creation.  Must have strong skills in Photoshop or comparable program, and be capable of PSD to HTML + CSS hand coding.

  • Research and determine appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and make relevant recommendations to Marketing & or Management Teams

  • Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays.

  • Alert Management Team to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and! activities.

  • Develop innovative, reusable Web-ba! sed tools to further our businesses goals

  • Successfully create and maintain corporate websites with responsibility for providing advanced coding and database development, website real time monitoring, and backup management.

  • Perform additional services, including coordination of website hosting, website design, domain registration, application development, landing page design, form design, banner ad design, document and script design, content development, and integration into cost-effective Internet marketing and SEO campaigns.

  • Work closely on a continuous basis with a team composed of marketing, business development, and management staff to ensure quality control and excellence.

  • Coordinate with external consultants if needed to implement the firm’s overall business strategy, identify and select third party service providers and appropriate technological solutions to meet our needs.

  • Integrate and impl! ement site analysis tools to allow data reporting of websites and applications

  • It is a requirement that the person we hire into this position be committed to learn DataFlex, a programming language (similar to C++/Visual Basic) used in our desktop CRM system.  Once DataFlex is learned the developer will be able to help work on IT tickets to maintain or make edits to our CRM system.

  • Attend industry trade shows and meetings to gain new knowledge and cutting-edge technologies, ensure proper development of websites with regard to design and functionality, and provide feedback for business process improvement.
