Job opening - Head of Software Development for rapidly-growing commercial SaaS platform at ResiModel, LLC (New York, NY)

The opportunity:

ResiModel, LLC is a small but rapidly growing software company that is positioning itself to become the worldwide standard for evaluating multifamily real estate investments.  There are two components to the company’s proprietary software:

• Web-based user interface for users to collect input data and generate sophisticated reports


• “Back-end” program that generates robust, formatted Excel models by combining the inputs with a comprehensive list of rules and conditional formulas.

The company is hiring a Head of Software Development who will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.  The Head of Software Development will initially act as both the senior project manager as well as a lead developer.  Successful candidates are able to develop world-class, cutting-edge SaaS products alo! ne and as part of a team.  They will be able to implement detailed project plans, establish realistic schedules, adhere to strict deadlines, and apply a thorough and systematic approach to testing. 

The Head of Software Development position is best suited for candidates with long term aspirations to grow with the firm who are results-driven, passionate about perfection, and excited about getting involved in a rapidly-growing company at the ground-floor. 

Your challenge:

• Prepare succint, yet comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed functional specifications and a detailed test plan


• Oversee work currently being performed by an outside firm and gradually bring that work in-house


• “Roll up your sleeves” and build cutting-edge C# ASP.NET and Javascript/JQuery applications


• Recruit and build a world-class team of star! programmers from his/her own network of trusted professionals!


• Establish a systematic release management process for testing and rolling out new releases of the software


• Determine appropriate system architecture and perform regular maintenance to guarantee an acceptable level of performance both internally within the company as well as for users logging in to the system


• Develop and maintain a comprehensive data security & encryption architecture


• Develop a business continuity program and conduct on-going assessments of the firm’s disaster recovery ability
