Job opening - Software Engineer at Magnolia (Miami, FL)

If you are a consultant that is tired of travelling, but still want to work with clients, read on --->Magnolia builds a content management system (CMS) that is open to changes and open for anybody to work on. We communicate with our clients openly and live on their success. We are looking for a seasoned and enthusiastic full-time engineer to add to our Client Services team. Want to build sites and content management processes that solve real-world business problems? Want to cut your days away from home in half?


You will need a broad technological background with a focus on Java Web technologies. You have experience with Web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery as well as various back-end technologies (Java Servlet API, JCR, SQL, LDAP) and a desire to learn more.


You like to work as a subject matter expert. Experience as a consultant – preferably in the area of Web content management – is expected. Your background has ta! ught you how to collect requirements and translate a business problem into a technical solution.


This is not a typical on-the-road consulting position. Besides occasional short duration visits to client sites, you will primarily work in the Services team at our Miami office. The Client Services team communicates with clients directly. Being the public face to our clients, you are a naturally outspoken, clear communicator.


Here is the punch list of your responsibilities:



  • Help prospects and potential clients during initial product evaluation

  • Understand what the client wants to accomplish and advise on best practices

  • Work side by side with clients and advise on how to implement their Magnolia CMS project successfully

  • Manage prototyping sessions

  • Suggest development, integration and deployment approaches for specific requirements

  • Provide expert know-how on Magnoli! a CMS deployment and system architecture, including backup str! ategies, load balancing, failover, security, multisite and general hosting configuration

  • Build proofs of concept

  • Build new modules.
