This position will be a mix of new development and working on well-established, in-house applications fixing bugs, adding new features, and upgrading existing features. All .NET development is done in C# utilizing either v3.5 or v4.0. Any developer hired into this position will be expected to straddle the fence across several large applications developed in-house as well as help design and plan the migration from classic ASP to ASP.NET MVC for multiple public web sites. Classic ASP migrations will no! t be immediate, but any candidate should consider if this is something of interest or not.
All new development for any web site will utilize the latest tech such as KnockoutJS, Backbone, KendoUI, JSON for data transport, MVC frameworks, NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and potentially utilize scalable caching solutions such as memcached, Redis, etc. We run our current MongoDB replicated cluster on Ubuntu Server. Whatever is appropriate for the given task/project is what is used, but all coding will be in C#.
CaptiveAire hires senior-level developers that are expected to be independent with very little hand-holding and technical training required. You should be comfortable taking on medium to large projects and be able to bootstrap them from the ground-up. You should also be comfortable diving into well-entrenched, custom, in-house applications which drive the entire company. We are very laid back, don't have a lot of rules and processes! to get in our way, and basically want to deliver top-notch, q! uality software to run the company.
