Information Systems Administrator, Engineering Services – Portland

We are seeking an intelligent, motivated, and dynamic Information Systems Engineer versed in VMware, Linux, and Windows server environments to join our Engineering Services group. The engineer will perform system administration tasks such as building, operating, maintaining, and enhancing the Engineering computing infrastructure, and provide technical support to software developers and quality engineers.
 
Typical tasks would include deploying and customizing clusters of Linux and Windows server VMs, managing access and interactions using Active Directory group policies, monitoring performance, and managing the related storage and backups. The ideal candidate will possess excelle! nt task management and troubleshooting skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Support software development and quality engineering staff in troubleshooting and debugging issues on Linux and Windows server platforms.


• Build and maintain development and QA environments.


• Maintain internal Jive instances for collaboration among employees, and escalate issues within Engineering.


• Manage engineering tools for version control, code review, and workflow management.


• Help establish, document, monitor and enhance standard operating procedures.
