We are seeking bold, values-aligned front and back-end engineers to join our startup in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, a culturally lively, friendly, high-quality-of-life, fast-growing metro (in fact, the fastest growing in India). For engineering positions, we are open to remote working arrangements for the perfect candidate.

Front-End Engineer

Responsibilities

•  Drive the design and development of our web and smartphone-based interfaces; own what the user sees and have a strong voice on how to create the best possible user experience.
•  Architect server and client-side systems using the Django framework
•  Make UI and UX decisions, including layout.
•  Integrate with the rest of social web through apps and APIs
•  Stay up-to-date with technologies so you can suggest new coding practices, recommend architecture changes and optimize scalability.

Qualifications

•  2-5 years experience building production quality web applications. Degree in Computer Science or related field. If B.S. more experience is required; if M.S. less.
•  Exceptional proficiency using HTML/CSS/Javascript/AJAX in a production environment and strong understanding of how to make them work harmoniously for a great UX.
•  Strong background in Python and Java (or confident you can pick them up)
•  Experience with a web framework like Django (preferred) or Rails
•  Experience building UI that renders perfectly across operating systems and browsers, including legacy versions (this is India)

Back-End Engineer

Responsibilities

• From the ground-up, architect a back-end that lives in the cloud and interfaces with the internet and telephony networks to serve millions of web requests, phone calls, and sms messages.
• Tackle complex problems in distributed computing, performance, distributed queuing, and real-time audio processing
• Dive into telephony servers (software switches FreeSWITCH or Asterisk) and cloud telephony services (Twilio, Plivo, etc.) and come up with the best solution for an integrated, high-performance infrastructure that serves web, voice, and SMS.

Qualifications

•  2-5 years experience building web-scale, highly available backends. Degree in Computer Science or related field. If B.S. more experience is required; if M.S. less.
• Strong background in Python and Java (or confident you can pick it up)
• Experience with traditional RDBMS databases, such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, etc.
• Knowledge of document, key/value or other non-relational database system such as Redis, HBase, BigTable, Dynamo a plus.
