Job opening - Business Analyst at ZocDoc (New York, NY)

Zocdoc is looking for exceptional business analysts to help take our internal data/information systems to a new level.  As a ZocDoc Business Analyst, you will be leading research, design and QA for projects that are critical to scaling ZocDoc’s operations in our mission to fundamentally change healthcare delivery.

You will take primary ownership for your assigned projects, and ensure that we are building solutions that will solve real business problems in an efficient and high quality manner.  Specific responsibilities and tasks will include:

• Analyze and model existing systems to create a complete picture of workflows and business rules performed by existing software, databases and people


• Lead cross-functional brainstorming sessions to identify key business drivers, architectural limitations, costs and benefits, potential solutions, etc.


• Critically evaluate information gathered from! multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs


• Create and iterate Design Documents which detail all aspects of the proposed solution, including workflows, screen design, tool behaviors, data flows, database interactions, etc.


• Lead multiple cross-functional Design Review meetings per project in which Design Documents are discussed and critically evaluated to obtain feedback to iterate the design


• Drive stakeholders to consensus and get buy-in for solutions


• Work with software development and internal business users to break complex solutions down into simpler, more manageable deliverables for phased implementation


• Work closely with the software development team during the development process, clarifying requirements and business rules and gath! ering further details as required


• Work with inte! rnal users to validate and unit test solutions


• Work with internal users to produce user documentation and training materials for new systems, and otherwise ensure clean operationalization


• Communicate project and design status to Executive Team and all stakeholders
