Reporting directly to the Director of Installation Services, the Systems Engineer, Migration Services, is responsible for migrating live multi-user UNIX systems.
Responsibilities:
-Provide technical consultation to libraries migrating their Millennium, Encore, and other Innovative systems.
-Prepare new UNIX servers for migration.
-Complete remote and on-site system migrations.
-Provide support for field-based migrations engineer.
-Coordinate with other groups and departments internally to prepare systems for migration.
-Work to ensure all post-migration issues are resolved in a timely manner.
-Create and maintain procedural documentation.
-Manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines and with shifting priorities.
-Other system support and installation duties as assigned.
