MMI currently has an opportunity available in our Houston office for a Senior Database Administrator.
The Senior Database Administrator is a technical leadership role within MMI’s IT organization, focused on end-to-end management of the issues related to our data and database systems. The Senior DBA is responsible for designing, installing, monitoring, maintaining, and improving MMI’s data services while ensuring high leve! ls of data quality, availability, and security from the perspective of both administration and development.
Also responsible for defining standards and collaborating in the development of policies and procedures to ensure database system provisioning, design, and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, the Senior DBA will work closely with IT Managers and Directors to ensure alignment between organization objectives and their own responsibilities. The Senior DBA will collaborate closely with experts in both the system administration and development disciplines at both strategic and tactical levels.
The Senior Database Administrator bears ultimate responsibility for troubleshooting, analyzing, and solving database related issues to ensure day-to-day operations are fully supported.

• A minimum of 5 years experience administering, managing, installing, maintaining, and developing in SQL Server, including up to and including SQL Server 2008 R2.
• Guru level knowledge of T-SQL.
• Guru level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration, including the suite of Microsoft tools related to SQL Server.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft SQL stack, including Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services, in addition to Guru level knowledge of the Database Engines.
• Advanced knowledge of high availability strategies such as log shipping, clustering, and mirroring.
• Advanced understanding of Windows based operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of current Internet technologies.
• 4 year degree from an accredited institution with relevant coursework. Some combinat! ion of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
