The Role
Bloomberg is seeking a talented and motivated senior developer to join our new Data Visualization team. The team will leverage the company¿s unparalleled data, analytics and editorial content to create brand-differentiating interactive data products for Bloomberg¿s global business consumer audience. These data products will focus on a variety of topics including the economy, politics, law, healthcare, energy, and finance and will be featured on all of Bloomberg¿s media platforms, including web, mobile, and TV.
The senior developer will report to the Global Head of Data Visualization and will collaborate with designers to create and develop engaging interactive data products, converting designs into functional prototypes.
The selected candidate will take a strategic role in the development of current and future Bloomberg interactive data products, working closely with the team project manager and the web and mobile R! &D teams to turn these prototypes into deployed, production-quality software (through the production of design specifications, time/personnel estimates, or collaboration with coders on other teams). The successful applicant must be proficient in multiple programming languages and web technologies and have a solid understanding of modern web development and design practices.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for data and design along with a solid understanding of digital tools, trends, and infrastructure; and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and senior executives.
