Job opening - QA Lead Engineer at Crown Philanthropic Solutions (Bergen, NJ)

We are looking to hire a great Quality Assurance (QA) lead that will be an excellent addition to our evolving group of professionals. What will you do?


The QA Lead will oversee all quality assurance efforts, perform software quality testing, manual and automated, in an open source LAMP environment and frameworks. The candidate will evolve the testing  and software release procedures and documentations. The candidate  must be a hands-on team player that will work very collaboratively and close with the software developers and the IT staff.


Desired Skills & Experience


What do you need to know?



  • Minimum ! of 5 years solid QA experience working with web applications and Linux environment.

  • Ability to review technical specifications and design documents to provide detailed estimates for all QA activities.

  • Analyze test results reports and test cases results and determine causes, and create detailed and comprehensive defects reports. Familiarity with various defects tracking      tools is required.

  • Monitor and track defects/risks and manage through resolution.

  • Develop and implement regression test cases to; 1) Implement complex testing scenarios; 2) Increase permeations of functionality testing; and 3) Increase code coverage (end to end testing coverage).

  • Write detailed test cases and test plans.

  • Conducts manual tests including regression testing, system end-to-end testing, functionality testing, black box and white box tes! ting, unit testing, integration testing (Including workin! g with the development team), negative and adversarial testing, and      crash and recovery testing.

  • Prepare test data and test eenvironments.

  • Create complex SQL statements.

  • Work with Development Team to understand development processes and implement diagnostics and testing capabilities into the company’s products.

  • Work closely with other QA Analysts, Developers, and Product Manager

  • Provide technical mentoring to more junior QA testers, raising the bar of technical expertise within the organization through on-the-job training, technical presentations, and on-going technical & QA coaching.

  • Lead the technical strategic QA automation and tests planning for the company, proposing new directions and technologies.

  • Promote continuous improvement.

Additional requirements:



  •               Automation testing framework (e.g. Selenium)

  •             Using debug tool such as Wireshark & Httpwatch or Firebug (debugging & performance tools for html/http)

  •               Development skills - HTML and scripting language (php, python, java      scripts, bash scripts)

  •               SQL

  •               Linux

  •               Working with source control (Git, GitGub, SVN)

  •   ! ;            Working ! with Ticketing system (Test Director/ Quality Center,  Jtrac, Mantis, Trac, Jira, Bugzilla)

  •               Good understanding of QA methodologies and process

  •               Understanding of Agile development methodologies (e.g. scrum)
