Who you are...

This is a 6month contract position with option for renewal.

As the successful applicant, you have experience designing and building high performance, large-scale dynamic database driven Internet applications in a Linux based environment. You embrace complex software development challenges and opportunities, and have a mission to release high quality Internet application/system software that is highly resilient and optimally performing on large distributed networks.

You are able to design and build highly scalable (both load and performance) server side systems using open source resources. You also have familiarity with using open source frameworks and toolsets in a Linux environment. You are eager to work in a results-driven environment and have excellent communication and documentation skills.   You have a good sense of humour & are looking for fun at work.

Key Responsib! ilities

• PHP Development of MySQL and PostgreSQL database driven web and other Internet applications


• Work both independently and as part of a team to design, build and test high quality dynamic database driven Internet applications using open source resources, in an environment where requirements are constantly changing


• Support both internal and external clients in the use of these applications


• Design and build core software components, and document the design specifications


• Research new technologies and provide new methods of improving our existing systems


• Participate in peer analysis and review of designs, code, and interface usability


• Help evolve our development processes, coding standards, and best practice guidelines


• Provide input and technical content to support user and system documentation
