Job opening - Backend PHP developers for R&D team at Noggin (Sydney, Australia)

We're looking for a PHP developer to add to our R&D team.

Q: What's the role?
The role is for a full-time PHP developer in a team of other developers working on our products on site at our office in Sydney. All our developers are involved in the whole process: from design to develop to test to deploy. The knowledge areas range from understanding operating system process management, architecture, databases, development, all the way up to user interface.

Q: What's the technology stack?
Predominately Linux (CentOS or RHEL), Apache, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, and Bash. However we believe in using the right tool for the job.

Q: What's the development environment?
Linux (CentOS or RHEL for servers, Fedora for desktops)
Subversion
Editor is your call. Some use VIM, some Kate, some Eclipse, etc.
Issue tracker is our own, but similar in concept to JIRA.
We use an agile-ish ! methodology changed to suit our needs.

Q: What's the culture like?
We are a technical company, and not a digital agency. Our products solve serious problems so it's safe to say that our culture reflects that. Quality, security, and usability is our focus, not so much funkiness; but of course we make sure we have a good time whilst doing it all.

Aside from developers, we have business analysts, project managers, testers, trainers, support, infrastructure, sales, and marketing people. So it's not just developers. The average age is probably around 28. Some with families, some not. The work hours are officially 9am-5:30pm and we like to pride ourselves on managing things right so people don't really have to work much outside of that.

Q: Where are you located?
Liverpool St, Sydney, Australia
