System Operations Engineer (DevOps) Vancouver

The System Operations Engineer reports to the Lead Operations Engineer and works closely with the Software Development Team by creating and maintaining IT environments that support development, testing and production, all from within the structure of an IT team. A successful candidate should love learning and be able to self-teach with even a minimal amount of direction.

Responsibilities

• Liaises between IT at large and Software Development Teams


• Gathers IT requirements from Software Team Leads and the Vancouver Office Manager


• Provides IT support to Software Developers


• Maintains servers, as required


• Maintains and improves development structure


• Establishes and recommends policies on system use and services


• Develops applications or scripts with a focus on system admin! istration and monitoring


• Keeps up to date with industry best practices and security advisories on a variety of topics, and shares relevant information or transforms it into recommendations as needed
