Job opening - Lead/Senior Web Developer for Early Stage Startup (Bay Area Only) at OpenPlacement (San Francisco, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Berkeley, CA)

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Web Application Developer for a contract position with an opportunity to lead to full-time.  We are a Startup located in the Bay Area comprised of serial entrepreneurs and industry veterans and have founded several successful businesses in the past. We see a huge opportunity and need a partner to attack this massive market in a sleepy industry that is ripe for innovation.  With Baby Boomers retiring, there is a huge demand for connecting families with assisted living facilities, but the marketplace is offline and broken.  We have deep connections in the space and understand its unique demands.  We need a Ruby expert to partner with us and join the founding team on aggregating tons of disparate data sources and creating a vibrant marketplace that will scale for millions of retirees.

Ideal candidate is a developer with strong consumer web application development experience, deep knowledge of ! the latest web technologies and an appreciation for good interaction design.  Candidate should also be someone who is excited to tackle an exciting and growing industry and be part of the team from the ground floor.

You must bring a fun and positive attitude to work.  Experience and interest in the field of healthcare is a plus but not required.  Our culture is fast paced as we are passionate about what we do and are excited about changing the world.  Our team is very outgoing as is our culture and communication is vital.  We all are active individuals outside of the office and enjoy spending time with our families and friends. Please note: This is a contract position with the potential for full time and an equity stake in the company - ideally, if we like you and you like us, you will be a part of the "founding team." You will initially be working around 20-30 hours per we! ek, but this figure is flexible and will likely increase in th! e immediate future. We'll try to work around your current schedule as much as possible.
