VFILES is looking for a server side Ruby on Rails engineer to join our growing team in a leadership role. We are building an innovative platform for fashion collaboration and inspiration through imagery, video and a unique take on search. You will help us focus on our server side infrastructure which leverages Rails running on Heroku with the usual culprits. We are building out RESTful web services running on top of graph databases and Sql, and are looking to integrate nosql solutions for specific use cases.
You will collaborate with our CTO and larger team to solve interesting data modeling problems, write scalable, testable code in the language that makes the most sense, add various features to the platform and ensure everything is running smoothly. You'll be working with great people on a cool product in an awesome space at our SoHo studio.
We know that good development is not about the language or the framework but about know! ing how to build great software. Our values are crafting well written code with reuse in mind, putting OOP principles and design patterns to use. Scalability and performance are important and you are ready to apply your skills in architecture and development to build a next generation website.
