The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine is a large (over 800 employee) department based at the University of Washington Medical Center on the Seattle campus. Our clinical and research activities include operation of the clinical laboratories that perform testing for the hospitals and clinics of the UW Medicine system, and extensive research and method development to advance the field of Laboratory Medicine.
We are in the process of expanding our bioinformatics infrastructure to meet the demands of a new generation of clinical and research instruments that generate large volumes of data, particularly high throughput DNA sequencing. We are seeking an experienced Python programmer to assist faculty with their bioresearch projects and grants, develop software applications, provide data extracts and analysis, write scripts, build databases, and support servers. You will perform analysis and development work in a state-of-the-art c! linical laboratory, working closely with M.D./Ph.D. faculty members.
