We're a Linux shop who opts for open source applications (CentOS, Tomcat, Hadoop, Cassandra, MySQL, memcached, MogileFS, Chef) when possible and, as such, we are looking for a highly capable systems administrator that is eager to work with best of breed technologies, cutting edge distributed systems and the hottest hardware to join our operations team and help us tackle scaling out our service and infrastructure.
As a Junior Operations Engineer at Outbrain you will work inside our operations team and focus mainly on our physical infrastructure. You will help to coordinate new purchases, manage existing hardware and ultimately be the go-to resource for the state of the systems.
You will work with vendors and support to keep everything healthy and running. Organization and a fanatical dedication to documentation is paramount for this role.
You will ocassionally travel to our remote datacenters and help build out new ones with the rest of ! the Operations team.
In the course of your day you will interact with the rest of the Operations team and have exposure to new technologies and techniques in web operations.
High ability to learn things by yourself and creativity in developing solutions is highly appreciated.
