Job opening - Comcast Interactive Media: Sr. Web Developer, CMS

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
* Create a Content Management UI to allow our editorial staff to control the content on our various properties (Xfinity.com, XfinityTV.com, iOS and Android apps).
* Work with feature creation, editorial and engineering teams to develop, implement and refine new requests for our various properties.
* Add behavioral enhancements (visual effects, form validation) to the CMS through the use of unobtrusive, DOM-compliant scripts.
* Create prototypes to aid planning phase of projects.
* Conduct feasibility reviews of design concepts with interaction design team.
* Communicate development status to team members.
* Write unit tests, fix defects and participate in code reviews.
* Write development and architectural documentation for internal use and usage documentation for the editorial end-users
* Research emerging web technologies and techniques in order to drive the evolution of the groups' best practices


 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 
 
* 5+ years experience building accessible, cross-platform web sites or web applications
* HTML 5, XHTML 1, XML
* CSS 2, CSS 3
* DOM Scripting with JavaScript
* Knowledge of asynchronous client programming techniques (AJAX)
* Experience with Content Management Systems
* Knowledge of web standards best practices
* Knowledge of web browser compatibility issues and workarounds (Mac and PC)
* Knowledge of accessibility laws and accessible development techniques
* Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook (Entourage)

Additional Preferred Skills:


* Adobe AIR
* FreeMarker
* Experience with Enterprise-level Content Management Systems
* Experience with an Agile / Scrum development process
* Knowledge of source control systems systems (SVN, Git)
* Experience building applications
* Experience writing unit and integration tests
