NationalNet is a well established 14 year old hosting company located in Marietta Georgia that is currently hiring a creative and motivated LAMP developer. Our motto is "Work hard. Play Hard".
The Mission:
We currently have an opening for a self motivated developer to continue development and support of our internal and external applications. These applications include a custom CRM, Java based backup management system and SNMP network monitoring software. Responsibilities will include code immersion, testing, debugging security analysis and working with a gro! up that thoroughly enjoys what they do and who they're doing it with.
Long Term Goals:
Once ramped up, this position will lead to full life cycle management duties such as product installation and upgrades, second tier emergency support, new technology implementation, and coordinating external partner product implementations. Other job responsibilities will include security, break/fix, upgrade support for existing legacy installs and thinking outside of the box - we want your cool ideas!
Required Experience:
* 2+ years of continuous development for LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) based applications
* Understanding of fundamental Internet Protocols (SNMP, DNS, HTTP, SSH, SMTP, FTP - we did mention that you're a bit of a geek, right?))
* Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming background (this ain't your father's web site!)
* Experience with source revision management s! ystems (specifically subversion - nothing worse than los! ing code - ACK)
* Creative problem-solving skills and an ability to apply business logic to development requirements
* Strong knowledge of database and information architecture, with web application integration (you know triggers, right?)
* Complete understanding of XHTML and XMLHttpRequest object
Required Skills:
* PHP 5 OOP
* MySQL 5.x
* PERL
* Web application development
* Excellent understanding of relational database design and modeling
* MySQL or other RDBMS stored routines and triggers.
* Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential to open dialog with the customers, internal team and external partners
* Cross-browser/platform debugging and development
* The ability to have fun while you work
