Wayfair is building a front-end engineering team that focuses on building accessible, maintainable, and high performance HTML/CSS. We need to support many browsers with dozens of different resolutions, and we love finding elegant solutions that solve for all cases with minimal code.
In this role the candidate would be working closely with other engineers to make long term architectural decisions about the organization and loading of our CSS, while also getting the opportunity to embark on new projects like a mobile site (potentially) and other standalone projects like our Joss and Main private sale site. We use cutting edge HTML5 and CSS3 techniques to provide the best possible experience for browsers that support new standards. This is not a design role, we're looking for an engineering mindset on this one.
At Wayfair we are at the forefront of web development, and we highly encourage original solutions as well as contr! ibutions to existing open source projects (like OOCSS and CSSLint). The right candidate will be excited about working in a fast paced, dynamic environment where they can dabble in design and UI/UX in addition to their normal HTML/CSS coding responsibilities.
